Why is Yuji Itadori’s Hood Red?
Yuji Itadori’s red hood results from Gojo’s special request for the boy’s attire. Gojo personally went to great lengths to add the hood on Yuji’s regular school attire, though he never explained why. In chapter 4, he raises his scarlet hood for the first time. As they wait first to encounter their classmate Nobara, Yuji and Megumi would both discuss their uniforms.
Yuji’s Red Hood’s Origin Is Explained by Gojo:
Beginning with chapter #4, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro travel to central Tokyo to encounter their classmate Nobara Kugisaki. Only three first-year students, according to Yuji, sound a little disappointing for the class. Yuji responds that he doesn’t believe he has ever encountered somebody who could see curses in response to Megumi’s question. Gojo then approaches the two. He informs Yuji that it looks like the boy’s school uniform has arrived on schedule. It fits perfectly, according to Yuji; however, it differs from Megumi’s uniform since it has a hood. Gojo said, “School uniforms can be tailored upon request. “I asked for you right away.”
Yuji is puzzled but works out just because he prefers the hoodie anyway. Megumi warns Yuji to be cautious, as Gojo can sometimes be eccentric.
So there you have it. Yuji Itadori seems to have a red hood because Gojo specifically requested it. He hasn’t clarified why, but Gojo went out of his way to include a red hoodie beneath Yuji Itadori’s regular school outfit.
