Teamwork multiplies success they say, Minato Namikaze being the lead and the team members Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara together was called TEAM MINATO. How Did Kakashi Get His Sharingan?
It was during the “Third Shinobi World War” Kakashi Hatake received the Sharingan from Obito Uchiha as a dying gift.
“I’ll become your eye.. and see the future for you..” Obito Uchiha said.
The trio of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohora, together called team Minato Ninja’s Team set out for a mission.
Rin Nohara was abducted woefully but had her teammates who got her back. Initially, Kakashi Hatake was highly determined about the mission which led to Obito Uchiha leaving first to save his teammate, Rin Nohara.
Kakashi Hatake’s conscience knew it wasn’t right to cast aside his teammate which led to him following Obito Uchiha.
While saving Rin Nohara, slyly and purposely the cave which had temporarily sheltered Team Minato was collapsed by a stone ninja by using the earth style ninja art, then and there was when Obito Uchiha sacrificed his life to save and safeguard Kakashi Hatake.
Obito Uchiha pushes away his teammates and saves them from the crashing boulder by putting himself in great danger. The boulder falls on him, the entire right half of his body was buried under the boulder which led to his supposed death.
Laying half-dead under the boulder Obito Uchiha requested Rin Nohara to use her power to take his entire eye and transplant it into Kakashi Hatake as a gift for becoming a Jounin. He knew that the powers of the eye will transfer into Kakashi Hatake when the eye has been implanted
This is how Kakashi Hatake got his Sharingan, it was a gift, a dying gift.

How did Kakashi Hattake get his Sharingan? It was by using Obito Uchicha’s CHAKRA.
What is a chakra in the first place? A Chakra acts as a link between the afterlife and the living current life and allows psyches to travel from their afterlife to the current life temporarily.
Coming back, Rin Nohara was told by the younger self of Obito Uchiha that it’d be a pleasure for him to help Kakashi Hatake by giving him his eye to fight in the “Fourth Shinobi War”.
Henceforth, Obitu Uchicha uses the Chakra to make an appearance in the current world.
He takes Kakashi Hatake along with him to a place where they turn into kids and Obito Uchiha hands over the Sharingan to Kakashi Hatake.

How Did Kakashi Lose His Sharingan?
Kakashi’s Sharingan was seized by Madara in chapter 674.
Naruto and Sasuke were utterly helpless when Madara grasped the eye from Kakashi’s eye socket in the Fourth Shinobi War.
It all happened in a jiffy, Kakashi didn’t realize his eye was stolen for a few minutes. “it all happened so quickly, Madara stole my Sharingan” said Kakashi Hatake.
Since it was Obito’s eye that he stole, Madara had access to Obito’s dimension, the Kamui dimension. Madara went there to steal the rinnegan from Obito Uchiha.
Soon after Kakashi Hattake’s eye was snatched, Naruto Uzumaki, using his Ashura power, restored Kakashi’s eye. Naruto Uzumaki had healing power, which was an advantage in restoring Kakashi’s eye.
Later, he regained both Sharingans of Obito which he used for fighting with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, against Kaguya.
In conclusion of the battle, Kakashi lost both his Sharingan.
Does Kakashi Have a Sharingan in Boruto?
NO, Kakashi Hatake does not have a sharingan in Boruto.
Kakashi Hatake does not have a Sharingan in Boruto because he loses both his Sharingan after the “Fourth Shinobi War.”

Is Kakashi an Uchiha?
No, Kakashi HATAKE is NOT an Uchiha. He doesn’t belong to the Uchiha clan, instead, he is the son of Sakumo HATAKE, White Fang Of The Leaf. Sakumo Hatake was a very humble man, his personality made his son, Kakashi Hatake idolize and gain respect for his father.
As the name suggests, Kakashi HATAKE belongs to the Hatake clan. He just received the Sharingan from Obito Uchiha when Obito was nearly dead with his entire right side body, which was aggressively compressed under big pieces of boulders.
